On October 2-5, 2017, business, economic development, and education leaders and decision makers from China and the United States will gather in Albuquerque, New Mexico for the 2017 International Chinese Entrepreneurs Association’s (ICEA) US -China Business Matchmaking Summit.
We Mean Business
ICEA, along with conference co-sponsors, the America China Civic Exchange , the City of Albuquerque, Office of Economic Development and investUS LLC have created an opportunity for delegates to connect, share and learn together to create mutually beneficial, trusted business relationships that result in long-term business joint ventures, cross-border partnerships and investment funds for the benefit of growing the New Mexico economy and creating private sector jobs for the state.
ICEA is a nonprofit organization that focuses on empowering Chinese entrepreneurs around the world with leadership and management skills through the practical interaction of networking and communications, and providing a platform for business leaders to collaborate and partner together.
Unlike typical conferences, attendee engagement at the US-China Business Matchmaking Summit begins well before the event. ICEA and investUS are actively engaged in business and education matchmaking dialogs with interested Chinese and New Mexico parties, facilitating translation, vetting prospects and assisting with cross-cultural negotiations. We have qualified over 100 New Mexico business opportunities currently being discussed in China. Our goal is for people to attend, pen in hand, ready to sign memorandums of understanding and letters of intent.
East Meets Southwest
Over the past few months, summit chair and ICEA Incoming board of directors chair, Jian Zhu, has made frequent trips to China to promote the event and has already recruited delegates including officials from five city governments who have committed to sending delegations of 5-10 people to the summit. And ICEA is leveraging its relationship with its sister organization, America China Civic Exchange (ACCE), to outreach to their network in over 100 Chinese cities.
We expect 150–200 Chinese participants that are interested in pursuing a variety of opportunities in New Mexico, and a full conference attendance of 400+ individuals. This is the first time that such a large group of Chinese has come to New Mexico seeking business opportunities. In addition, ICEA will live stream the Summit to Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in at least 10 cities in mainland China.
